Brand Marketing & Your Target Market

There’s an old adage, “in a world of carbon copies, here’s to an original,” And while the world of carbon paper is far behind us, the idea of differentiation is an essential element of business strategy.

Your brand is intended to make you stand out to your target audience. If you say “oh, I want everyone to buy from me” you’re really saying “I don’t want anyone to buy from me.”  To be successful in today’s global business environment you need to clearly identify the niche market they you are focusing on and serve their needs better than anyone else in the marketplace. Your brand development is essential and differentiation is key.

If you are having trouble figuring what your core strategy, Brandings is here to help. Strategy formulation is central to all we do.

Internet Brand Marketing – How to Create Your Own Powerful Brand on the Internet
By Fabian Tan

Learning internet brand marketing is crucial to differentiate your business from others in your niche market. Many of us have this belief that small businesses, and small online businesses for that matter, don’t need any branding. We are all too focused on the strategies and the direct response stuff to care about branding. Well, the reality is branding matters.

Let’s look at the biggest businesses in the world. They all have a distinct brand. Mercedes is associated with luxury, McDonalds is associated with Ronald McDonald and FedEx is known for popularizing overnight delivery. These are all big, successful businesses, but that doesn’t mean small businesses can’t brand themselves to gain a competitive advantage as well.

The first step is to find or create something that makes our business different from others. Find out what is your core benefit that other businesses cannot provide or will find it difficult to provide. Be a specialist in something rather than a generalist. When a customer is looking for specific information or solutions, they would often prefer to go to a specialist for the answers rather than to a generalist. Someone who specializes in a craft is perceived to know more about it.

The other step you can take is to brand your business aesthetically. By this, I mean making your graphics and logo stand out. If most of your competitors in your industry are using red as their main color for their product, you can try blue, orange or purple to differentiate your business. The trick is to follow what successful businesses online have done (with regards to how they drive their traffic, their customer service, their product quality etc.) but do the things better. Find out key areas where you can differentiate yourself from your competitors.
