Who in the world doesn’t wish they would have bought a great domain name fifteen years ago when the internet first came out? Not only would you have the best name out there but, you would be worth millions in domain property alone. Well, those days have come and gone, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still find a great name at a reasonable price. Say you open an auto glass company. Your goal is to find a short memorable name for your venture. Glass.com has been taken long ago … and AutoGlass.com may be out of your price range.
Think outside-the-box. 5 letter Domain or even 6 letter domain names might be the way to go. Think that’s weird? Just consider some short very brandable names … Google, Skype.com and Yahoo.com. Check out our extensive inventory of short, very brandable names here http://brandings.com/shop/Short/Powerful_(Multi-Industry)-c-10.html?osCsid=d7obokjaquqhrjav3k94kela17 and here http://brandings.com/shop/Multi-Purpose,_Multi-Industry-c-36.html.

Branding Your Business With a Domain Name
By John Motson
I have always preached that there are still many quality domain names to be registered at reg fee. Now, before you start throwing stones, hear me out.
Yes, the dictionary .coms are gone. And yes, most quality overture two keyword .coms are gone. However, does your business really have to have a dictionary word, or a big overture two word domain to be successful? Google, Ebay, Kazaa, Skype, and many others didn’t think so.
Large corporations were the first to notice that domain speculators have been quite busy in the domain market, buying out all and sundry in terms of dictionary domain names. So, rather then pay the exorbitant amounts that the domain speculators ask for their domains, and also because a brandable name is catchier then a keyword domain, they branded their own names. Do you think you would have preferred Google.com to be called Search.com? Would they have been able to provide all the other services that they provide while being under the umbrella of a name that ties them down to just one type of service? The same goes for Yahoo and many other large internet corporations.
Now you will say but all the 4 letter dot coms, and most 5 letter pronounceable dot coms are gone. Well, Google is not a 5 letter domain. There are always and will always be brandable domain names that you can buy. There are over 16 million possible five letter combinations. How many possible combinations are of the 6 letter kind? And 7 letters?
In today’s world, branding is the key to buying a successful domain for your business.
